Prof. Borisoff participated in a work group in June, 2014 to develop the framework for a Global Ready Schools Designation for schools and districts in North Carolina. Over two days, members from K-12 and higher education met at the Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh to outline, create and refine requirements for the Global Ready Schools Designation. The draft of the framework has been completed and is undergoing review by the NC Special Committee on Global Education and the NC State Friday Institute for Educational Innovation.
She has been asked to serve as a member of the North Carolina Dual Language/Immersion Advisory Team for the Department of Public Instruction. The State Board of Education Task Force on Global Education Report of January 2013 set a goal to expand dual language/immersion programs to all districts of the state and to provide an articulated K-12 model. Work on this project will begin in September, 2014.
