“In a near-future dystopian world, Memo Cruz, a young man from a rural village in Mexico, dreams of a better life. In this future, borders are tightly controlled, and migrant labor is virtualized through a network of cybernetic nodes. Memo becomes a “sleep dealer,” remotely working in the U.S. from a factory in Mexico. As he navigates this high-tech yet exploitative world, he uncovers the harsh realities and hidden connections between labor, technology, and socio-political power.”
