Set in Spain during World War II, the story follows Ofelia, a young girl with a love for fairy tales. While staying at the countryside home of her cruel stepfather, Captain Vidal, alongside her pregnant and ailing mother, Ofelia discovers a magical world where a faun tasks her with completing three challenges to achieve immortality.
