Dr. Javier Lorenzo: Space, Drama, and Empire Mapping the Past in Lope de Vega’s Comedia

Javier Lorenzo, Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies, published Space, Drama, and Empire: Mapping the Past in Lope de Vega’s Comedia with Rutgers/Bucknell University Press. Professor Lorenzo’s book investigates how representations of space contributed to the construction of an imperialized image of Spanish history in the drama of Lope de Vega (1562-1635), founder of Spain’s national theatre.
