ECU Students Explore Art & Culture in Buenos Aires
This summer, a group of ECU students took their learning beyond the classroom during a four-week study abroad program in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The program blended academics with cultural experiences, offering students an opportunity to live with host families, take courses with ECU and local faculty, and engage directly with Argentine peers.
A highlight of the program was a hands-on street art workshop led by a renowned local artist, Guille Pachelo. Students explored the city’s vibrant visual culture through guided tours and collaborative sessions, culminating in a final exhibition that showcased their creative work. The exhibition table, now on display at the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center, reflects the ideas and personal growth sparked by this experience.
In addition to the art-focused components, students participated in curated excursions including tango lessons, museum visits, and cultural discussions, all designed to expand their understanding of Argentinian society and the Spanish language.
Whether just beginning their Spanish studies or advancing toward fluency, participants returned with new perspectives, lasting connections, and an appreciation for global learning.
