Alumna in Paris: Erin Marohn (2021)

Erin Marohn graduated in 2017 with a BA in Foreign Languages & Literatures, concentrating in French Education. She taught for the TAPIF program for two years, first in the suburbs of Paris, and then on the beautiful island of Corsica. She is currently is a 2nd grade teacher in the heart of Paris, at the Collège de Sévigné, a private bilingual school. She finds working in the French school system incredible and fulfilling, and credits her instructors at ECU.

“The ECU Foreign Languages department gave me the foundation I needed to build my knowledge of the French language and of pedagogy. The education sector exposed me to the methodology behind second language acquisition (I still refer to my books/notes to this day), and inspired me to become the educator I am today. Living in France and teaching was my dream for years, and now I am living it. In my free time I love visiting art exhibitions, reading in the beautiful Parisian gardens, and playing trivia on Mondays at my favorite pub.”
